Politics: APC not jittery over S’ Court ruling - Odigie-Oyegun.

John Odigie-Oyegun the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, says the party is not jittery over the Supreme Court’s ruling which favoured the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidates in Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.
The Supreme Court had recently ruled in favour of governors Nyesom Wike and Udom Emmanual who were the PDP candidates in the 2015 governorship elections in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states respectively.
Odigie-Oyegun, who was responding to inquiries from journalists shortly after his arrival at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar, said the party was not worried.
The APC chairman was in the Cross River State capital to receive defectors from the PDP and Labour Party to the APC
According to him, contrary to insinuations that the party is finding it difficult to accept the apex court ruling, the party only desired to know what informed the judgement.
He, however, noted that the outcry over the ruling so far has been that of its individual members and not the party.
He said: “The APC is not finding it difficult to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court, all we are after is to know why the ruling in the first place. No one can question the decision of the Apex Court.”
Speaking on the defectors which included a former senate leader, Chief Victor Ndoma-Egba, Senator Bassey Otu, a former PDP governorship aspirant, Mr. Goddy Jedy-Agba, Mr. Paul Adah, Chief Fidelis Ugbo, Ambassador Sunny Abang, among others, Odigie-Oyegun described the new entrants as ‘high caliber’ personalities.
He noted that their presence would usher in the desired change in the politics of Cross River State.
