Breaking News:Two 15-Year-Old Girls Fatally Shot at High School in Glendale, Arizona.

Two 15-year-old girls were fatally shot on the campus of Independence High School in Glendale, Arizona, just before 8 a.m.,confirmed byb the police.
Police say the shooting occurred in an isolated area of campus. No information regarding a suspect has been given. 
"This was not any sort of active shooter incident and there is no danger to the school or community at this time," Sgt. David Vidaure of the Glendale Police Department wrote in an email. 

There were no other victims aside from the fatal victims, Vidaure says. 

The school is currently on lockdown and parents cannot get to campus. They are being asked to wait at the WalMart at 75th and Glendale Avenues. 

About 2,000 students attend the school, according to the The Arizona Republic . 

The Glendale Union High School District issued a statement on Facebook reading, in part, "The campus remains on lock down and no one will be allowed to enter or exit the campus until the police have lifted the lock down and ensured the safety of the school. 

"Parents will be notified as soon as it is safe for students to be picked up from campus. 

"We will actively communicate with parents as more information is available." 

Jim Cummings, spokesman for the Glendale Elementary School District, told the Arizona Republic that some of the district's 17 elementary schools went into lockdown earlier this morning as a "precautionary measure.
